Professor the Lord Foster of Thames Bank OM (Brasenose), Visiting Professor in the School of Geography and the Environment, will deliver his inaugural lecture as Humanitas Visiting Professor in Architecture at 5 p.m. on Monday, 29 November, in the Examination Schools. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Hamilton, will preside.
Norman Foster will deliver his inaugural lecture as Visiting Professor in Architecture at Oxford University. He will address the issue of sustainable accomodation in an increasingly populated world, using its limited natural resources wisely. Drawing on his experieces with the Masdah development in Abu Dhabi, Lord Foster will lay out an alternative vision of sustainable living environments.
The lecture will be followed by a half-day symposium, convened by the School of Geography and the Environment. It will address themes arising from the lecture, focusing on the city of the future and will include internationally distinguished panelists from Oxford. Places at the symposium are by invitation only.
