The Spanish Professor is specialized in Ceramic Design

Javier Mira Peidro lecture

F. Javier Mira Peidro is a technical architect and professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He is currently Head of the Area for Design and Architecture in the Instituto de Tecnologia Ceramica (ITC), an Institute of a mixed character, made between Universitat Jaume I of Castellon and the Ceramic Industry Research Association (AICE).
He was a starting member of the Association for the Promotion of Ceramic Design, ALICER, where he was deputy-director from 1993 to 2005. Coordinator in charge of 10 R&D projects relating to ceramics, design, architectural applications, and innovative decorating processes developed at the Association for the Promotion of Ceramic Design, ALICER, and at the Instituto de Tecnologia Ceramica, ITC, funded by ceramic tile, frit and glaze manufacturing companies, etc., as well as by public bodies belonging to the Valencian, Spanish, and European Administration.
Co-inventor of 5 products and innovative systems relating to ceramic tiles and their installation systems. Author of 12 articles published in scientific or technical journals and in the specialized press, 11 presentations at conferences on different subjects relating to design and architecture. He has co-authored three books on the use and installation of ceramic tiles in architecture. He has received awards in different national and international Design Competitions and Projects.
