Continue their meetings scheduled from Three Cities in Flux, a survey on urban regeneration in London, Milan and Rome, where the three cities are the case studies from which party to discuss urban regeneration more generally starting from the legacy plans for London 2012 Olympics and Expo 2015 in Milan, and Rome’s candidacy for the 2020 Olympic Games.
In the program presented last summer at the conference by Ricky Burdett the master plan for the 2012 London Olympics and Legacy, the exhibition appears to Allies and Morrison in Rome, Italy preview, which will highlight a number of ‘measures ‘, or rules that govern the way in which these architects think about a place, and the meaning and limits of a’ masterplan ‘. Identified through careful consideration of the meaning of the city, and London in particular, these measures are then reviewed, compared and illustrated through models, photographs and drawings.Allies and Morrison’s work, particularly at the master plan for London, shows a profound trust in the understanding of objectives and reasons that have shaped the context in which any processing. Their approach avoids the imposition of a dominant notion of a priori or figurative, as can be attractive and convincing, but aims to develop a shared scenario which reproduces the historical interrelationships among various factors – social, economic, topographical – that harm the character and shape the identity of a place.October 18
