Jimenez Lai, founder of Bureau Spectacular based in Chicago, was the chosen one due to the excellency and originality of his body of work. Ceremony establishes the opening of ‘Close, Closer’, third edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.

Chosen from out of 180 entries of works from architects and studios from around the world, Lais critical thinking and assignment quality impressed the member of the jury. He was granted with the monetary prize of €5000. Jimenez was also recently selected to build the National Pavillon of Taiwan for the 14th Venice Architecture Biennale.

Lie also writes and drawns architecture graphic novels. Check out a part of his book "Citizens of no place".

The following shortlist includes other offices and Young architects with honorable mentions and outstanding work quality judged by the Triennale’s committee.
