After the announcement of architect Stefano Boeri willing to be a candidate for mayor of Milan in the forthcoming elections, there have been initial reactions and objections. The most obvious problem, highlighted by some politicians, would be a conflict of interests. Boeri has been appointed by the current mayor of Milan, Letizia Moratti, as head of the council's architectural Expo 2015. Candidacy for mayor and Expo will be a conflict of interests, but would no longer be valid since the architect has quit his job. But what is the political world by Stefano Boeri? "A competent person who knows the city, close to the themes of work and land development," he said to Onorio Rosati, secretary of the CGIL. "The right profile for the victory," according to Filippo Penati, head of the Bersani.
Boeri has defined himself as an independent candidate, "I do not have links with the parties." Is he the right candidate who could tear at the next elections the leadership of Milan Mayor Moratti?
