Practices, works and proposals form any professional, student, architecture studio or collective from Brazil and other countries can be submitted. There's no entry fee required, though activities and projects must be self-financed.
Curated by Guilherme Wisnik, Ana Luiza Nobre and Ligia Nobre, the two main spaces chosen to exhibit selected works for this year's edition of the Architecture Biennale are Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP) and the platform of the Pedro II metro station. The criteria for selection of these spaces, in contrast with the traditional choice- the Ibirapuera Park Pavilion- was mainly due to the connection of these two spaces with public transportation network. Despite the selection, there are no restrictions on the announcement to proposals that focus on other spaces in the city, just that they must be connected to the metro network and provide consents and legal authorization with the entry form.
Projects must be sent in an A4 envelope identifying the name of the participant to the IAB headquarters in São Paulo by June 14th. Should applicants choose to file in projects personally, office hours are from 9 am to 6 pm. Preferably the Biennale receives projects through email.
