The “Colônia do Paiol”, is in the context of “quilombolas” communities in Minas Gerais, particularly in the region of the “Zona da Mata” of Minas Gerais. The community is located in themunicipalityofBias Fortes/ MG, with a population of approximately 600 residents. The origin of this “quilombola”’s occupation, we retreated to the year 1891 with the donation of lands taken by farmer José Ribeiro Nunes to nine of his former slaves, namely Tobias, Gabriel, Adam, Justin, Quirino, Maria Creola, Camila Parda, Sebastian and Justinian. Currently, the descendants of these heirs remain in the Colony. The process of regularization of land in the Storeroom Cologne was opened in 2004, still open questions regarding the settlement. The community is studied under the " Territorialities ‘Quilombolas’ and Agroecology " project with funding from the CNPq / MDA; Proex / UFJF; Propesq / UFJF; Prograd / UFJF, under the coordination of Professor Leonardo Carneiro. The essay here fits with the proposed collaborative on the project Journeys of Municipal Plannin, linked to the research group Urbanismo.MG / UFJF, which coordinate with support from Fapemig, CNPq and Capes.
