about the book
Architecture in Uniform. Designing and Building for the Second World War documents the extensive contribution of architecture to the Second World War, and considers how it questioned architectural methods and fundamental structures, and lead to the supremacy of modernism.
Accompanying the exhibition is a publication of the same title that sets the project in a broader narrative. Written by Jean-Louis Cohen, curator of the exhibition, it is illustrated with over 350 colour and black and white images of drawings, photographs, maps, charts, and posters from the CCA Collection and many others.
