Lebbeus Woods (1940) was educated at the Purdue University School of Engineering (1958-60) and the University of Illinois School of Architecture (1960-64). He worked for Eero Saarinen Associates (1964-68), then in private practice. Since 1976 he has focused on theory and experimentation.
He is co-founder of the Research Institute for Experimental Architecture (RIEA), and editor of its book series published by Springer Verlag Wien/New York. He has been a visiting professor at many schools of architecture, including The Bartlett (London), SCI-ARC (Los Angeles), Columbia University and Harvard University. He is presently Professor of Architecture at The Cooper Union in New York City.
Corrado Curti (1975) was educated in Engineering and Architecture at the Politecnico di Torino. Achieved the PhD in Architecture Theory and Construction at the Politecnico di Torino in 2005, with a research about Architecture and Indeterminacy of the Built Form. His main field of interest is about tools and methods to include indeterminacy and unpredictability in the architectural project in analogy with the field of thermodynamics of complex systems. He has taken part in RIEA.ch activities since 2000 and is an associated architect at elasticospa.
